NRC Small Business Program Awards 8(a) Sole Source Contract to Ziegler Communications

Ziegler Communications was recently awarded an 8(a) sole source contract to provide PBX Telecommunications System Maintenance Support to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The task is primarily to provide sustainment, maintenance and operations support for the telecommunications system and equipment in NRC Region 4 located in Arlington, Texas. This include 24x7x365 hardware and software support for the following equipment: Avaya PBX CS1000E, Nortel/Avaya Call Pilots 1006R, Avaya AS5300, Mercom Audio Log Recorders 3000 series as well as other communications media (PRIís for local service and PRIís for long distance, Tie Trunk circuits to Avaya Spectel Conference System).

In addition, Ziegler Communications, together with its subcontractor and teaming partner TRCA, will also support and maintain Tie Trunks to the NRC Polycom conference systems. The Ziegler Communications team provide NRC 24x7x365 on-site technical assistance support for the systems/equipments and the specific tasks include:

  • Provide dedicated customer care team to handle Service Calls on a 24x7x365 basis
  • Coverage of maintenance and support includes 24×7 dispatch for repair and replacement of inoperable equipment
  • Provide support for emergency and non-emergency service calls and major outages
  • Perform System Equipment Updates, this includes a review on the condition of systems on a quarterly basis, and to analyze install of new Avaya patches or remove obsolete patches as required to keep telephone system in good working order
  • Perform Security Analysis to address and resolve issues related to security of PBX telephone system
  • Install Avaya patch releases and/or systems upgrades
